I have been married for 43 years to my best friend, Carolyn. She is my Deborah, under whose palm tree and at whose feet I often sit.

I am a graduate of Southern Methodist University (BS) and Dallas Theological Seminary (ThM) and have completed three years of graduate work toward a PhD in the field of Old Testament studies in the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California and the University of California at Berkeley.

I was an Associate Pastor on the staff of Peninsula Bible Church in Palo Alto, California for 17 years and was Senior Pastor of Cole Community Church in Boise, Idaho for 17 years.

Carolyn, and I now serve as co-directors of Idaho Mountain Ministries (IMM), a ministry of support and encouragement to pastoral couples in Idaho and neighboring states.

We have three sons-Randy, Brian and Josh-and six grandchildren: Mark, Melanie, Melissa, Sarah, Julia and Jay David. Silver Creek...

Located in the Wood River Valley north of Carey and south of Hailey, spring fed Silver Creek presents some of the most challenging flyfishing waters in Idaho. The gently flowing crystal clear waters are home to large rainbow trout as well as an occasional brown. Much of this fishery is flyfishing only and catch and release.

"I have found it to be a real truth that the very sitting by the river's edge is not only the quietest and fittest place for contemplation, but will invite an angler to it."

Isaac Walton in The Compleat Angler
